Hair for Care 2010

This year is the third year in a row the EUS has hosted Hair for Care on campus. Each year the event is a bit different, but each year results in a large donation being made to the BC Cancer Foundation.

The pledge period is starting now for people to gather donations. The head shave will the be hosted on March 26th.  These pledge forms can be found here.

DATE: March 26th, 2010

TIME: 1:30PM – 3:30PM

LOCATION: Courtyard at UBC Okanagan

WHO: Organized by engineers on campus, all are welcome and encouraged to participate – we will be accepting donations for the BC Cancer Foundation.

Pi Throw 2010

“Officially”, Pi Day occurs each year on March 14th (or 3.14). Over the past two years, the EUS has hosted Pi Day either on the day itself or as close to the day as possible. Each year, a few hundred dollars is donated to the Kelowna Community Food Bank from this event.

Pi’s can be purchased for a minimum donation of $5.00 for a specific target on campus on March 15th. EUS Volunteers will go around to “deliver” these pi’s to the lucky recipient, and present them with the option of being pi’d in the face, paying money to redirect this pi to a third party, or pay to neutralize it.

We are currently looking for volunteers to help advertise this event and to help Pi people on the day of. Send an email to president@ubcoengineers.com if you’re interested in either of these opportunities!

Partial proceeds of this event will go towards the Kelowna Community Food Bank through Campus Life’s “Ten Thousand Tin Night” campaign.
