President (CoCo) [president@ubcoengineers.com]: James Seabrook
Hello everyone,
I’m James, incoming 2010/2011 EUS president. As president, I will work closely with students, faculty, council, and the executive to grow the Engineering Undergraduate Society and continue enhancing the UBC Okanagan Engineering experience.
This will be my 5th year at UBC Okanagan, graduating in May 2011 from mechanical engineering. Throughout the years I have been involved in a wide variety of groups, activities, and programs on and around campus. Some involvement examples include: Previous EUS positions (REDS, ExCo), Resident Advisor, and extracurricular projects (Formula SAE). I have also lived in Kelowna during summers, worked in a variety of industries, and enjoyed all this beautiful city has to offer.
If you have any questions or ideas on how we can improve EUS services, please feel free to email or chat it up on campus.
For new students, remember that your experience at UBC Okanagan will largely depend on what you make it, so I encourage you to become involved and make the most of it!
Cheers
External Coordinator (ExCo) [external@ubcoengineers.com]: Jackie Nichols
I’m your incoming External Coordinator for the EUS this year. So, what does that even mean? I will be bringing forward opportunities for all engineering students to enhance their education through engineering groups outside of UBC Okanagan. This includes getting more students involved in Western Engineering Student Societies Team (WESST), Canadian Federation of Engineering Students (CFES), APEG BC, and various other competitions and conferences. I will also be working towards bringing UBC Okanagan Engineering another engineering specific career fair and more industry nights to encourage interaction between students and industry.
If you’re interested in getting involved through attending any of these conferences, learning more about competitions, or just having a chat about life in general, feel free to contact me any time.
Financial Coordinator (FinCo) [financial@ubcoengineers.com]: Kelly Bullivant
Hi, my name is Kelly Bullivant and I am the current Financial Coordinator for the EUS. As FinCo, I will ensure that the budget for the EUS reflects viable funding for various social, academic, and professional events that will be planned this year, and that the budget is upheld and accountable. I also make sure that everyone who spends money on behalf of the EUS is reimbursed. Along with this I help coordinate Red Sales with the Red Sales Manager, and help organize and run events with other EUS members. If you have any questions/ concerns/ anecdotal stories that you have, feel free to email me.
Internal Coordinator (InCo) [internal@ubcoengineers.com]: Darren Sutton
Writeup Coming Soon!
Social Coordinator (SoCo) [social@ubcoengineers.com]: Ben Kernan
What up everyone! As I’m sure you already know, my names Ben, but you can call me BK. I am going into my 3rd year, specializing in Mechanical. I have been involved with the Engineering Undergraduate Society (EUS) every year that I’ve been at UBC-O, as a 1st and 2nd year representative, so I know a bit about dealing with stuff our younger engineers face.
I have also been involved with many clubs, committees and organizations both within and outside of engineering at the university. Being the Social Co-ordinator for the EUS means I am responsible for all the good times you’re going to have and all my experiences means I have a background to make Engineering events kickass. If you have a good idea, or want to get involved with any of our great events, holla at me using the email above or come say hi if you see me round campus. I don’t bite, I swear!
