The Engineering Connection

The purpose of the Engineering Connection (EC) is to help connect engineering students of all years and disciplines by providing them with a chance to get to know each other, give and receive help with assignments and carry out group work.

As part of this program upper-year engineering students make themselves available on a weekly basis in the 3rd floor Fipke corridor to pass on helpful tips, help out with assignments and in general to let lower years in on all the secrets to success in engineering…

Volunteers are also available every Wednesday and Saturday from 12:30 – 2:30 pm in the 3rd floor Fipke corridor to throw you a life-line when you’re drowning in copious amounts of homework. If you’re in need of some extra help, arrangements can be made on an individual basis – just contact one of our volunteers (below) or email Emily at internal@ubcoengineers.com.

Also check out the new Scholastics forum on the Resources page, which allows you to post homework questions. EC volunteers will be checking the forum regularly and will respond to questions that are posted. With the new forum you can now scan diagrams, upload them onto the net (such as by using http://imgur.com/) and post the link in the forum as a visual discussion aid.

John Babineau is a third year Civil Engineering student who holds the External Coordinator position for the EUS and also volunteers his time at the EC every Saturday from 12:30 – 2:30 pm. Feel free to drop by the 3rd floor Fipke corridor if you’re looking for a place to work with others and would like someone around who can answer the occasional question.
