Engineers For a Better World

EFBW is an aspiring Engineers Without Borders chapter formed in 2008 on the UBC Okanagan campus. Our membership is comprised of UBC students from all faculties of study, who possess a wide and varied range of backgrounds and skill sets. Together we strive to make the EFBW vision a reality through volunteer activities that we organize during the school terms. This coming year is expected to be a very exciting one, as we aim to raise enough funds to send a volunteer overseas to Africa for the first time in our group’s history! This volunteer will assist in engineering sustainable solutions that improve the quality of life for those living in the community that is impacted. Your participation in these endeavours is warmly welcomed. If you are interested in becoming a member of EFBW, go to www.efbwubco.com and create an account on the site, become acquainted with the members in our community by attending one of our member meetings, and join in on the activities! Alpha Omega Epsilon Colony

Alpha Omega Epsilon is a professional engineering sorority, making it different from a typical sorority. We have recently become a colony of AOE, and we take part in events that promote engineering, academic development and community involvement. We are involved in engineering and non-engineering clubs, as well the Engineering Undergraduate Society, where our girls can be seen actively participating in student government.

Girls in any year level and discipline of engineering are welcome to join.  We hold casual meetings on campus every Thursday evening at 6:30PM in ART 372.  If you’re interested in finding out more, contact Meagan Harvey at showachan – at – gmail.com. Check out our website at www.ubcoaoe.com for more up to date information.

Hope to see you out there!

Sigma Phi Delta – Beta Epsilon

Sigma Phi Delta is a Fraternity open to students of an Engineering background. It attends to both the social and professional sides of Engineering, in the school and at the workplace. It is an organization that fosters Brotherhood, comraderie, leadership and teamwork: Men join as individuals and graduate as lifelong members in a very special, close-knit group. Becoming a part of Sigma Phi Delta greatly helps a man develop the skills, confidence, morality, and sense of teamwork necessary to become an excellent Engineer.
