President (CoCo) [president@ubcoengineers.com]: Seth Attrill
I’m Seth, incoming 2011/2012 EUS president. As president, I will work closely with students, faculty, council, and the executive to grow the Engineering Undergraduate Society and continue enhancing the UBC Okanagan Engineering experience.
This will be my 5th year at UBC Okanagan, graduating in May 2012 from Civil Engineering. Throughout the years I have been involved in a wide variety of groups, activities, and programs on and around campus. Some involvement examples include: Previous EUS positions (Civil Rep), Create Orientation Leader, and representing our school at WESST retreat. I have also lived in the Okanagan during summers and enjoyed all this beautiful city has to offer.
If you have any questions or ideas on how we can improve EUS services, please feel free to email me or chat in person.
For new students, remember that your experience at UBC Okanagan will largely depend on what you make it, so I encourage you to become involved and make the most of it!
Cheers
External Coordinator (ExCo) [external@ubcoengineers.com]: Natasha Orlitzky
My name is Natasha Orlitzky, and I am your new External Coordi
nator for 2011/2012. For those of you who are unaware of what this position means, let me explain: Every year there are conferences, competitions, retreats, and congress events made available to engineers across Canada. These events inspire young engineers to be active members of their student body, in addition to professionally developing us as individuals. It is my duty as ExCo to help you get there. If you are interested in expanding your engineering experience outside the classroom, please come talk to me! In addition to these external events, I will also be hosting the career fairs on campus. I will do my best to provide us with a diverse range of engineering related companies, so we all have potential employers we are interested in. If you have ideas, come see me, lets make it happen!
Financial Coordinator (FinCo) [financial@ubcoengineers.com]: Paul Banwell
Hello, I am your Financial Coordinator for 2011/2012. My job is to make sure that we have enough money to do all the awesome events we put on during the year and to make sure that we will have enough money to do it again next year.
Internal Coordinator (InCo) [internal@ubcoengineers.com]: Robbie Sharma
Welcome Engineers to the 2011/2012 year!
If you haven’t met me yet, I’m a 3rd year mechanical engineering student that enjoys being involved on our campus. When I’m not studying until 3am or working with your EUS, I love spending time with friends or re-energizing through my love of martial arts. It’s my passion to stay challenged and active!
As your Internal Coordinator, my role is to work with our faculty, UBCSUO, engineering clubs, and student body to ensure our professional and academic needs as students are being met. One way is by funding professional and academic activities by having a student due, which most engineering societies across Canada have to fund their operations. By having a due, every student will have access to subsidized services to improve their education, scholarships & awards, opportunities to participate in local and national professional development events, and much more. This is one initiative what I am actively pursuing as it will benefit us as students in the future.
Feel free to talk to me when you see me or by dropping me an email as I’m very easy going and approachable. Chances are I really want to talk to you, because only you know what we can do to make our campus the best in the world
Social Coordinator (SoCo) [social@ubcoengineers.com]: Heather Mallory
